IS THIS FOR ME?

What is the Level of Play?

Skill Level of Play - Beginner to Advanced

Open play days are perfect for all skill levels of play however, if you do not know how to play, the we would encourage you to take a lesson to learn the basics. We ask that first timers do this out of respect to those who already know how to play. Open play days are not a day of instruction. Open play days are reserved for players that already know how to play with skill levels Beginner to Advanced.

This is what you need to know in order to play on this day.

- Know the basic rules

- Know how scoring works

- Know the lines, meaning whats in and out.

Q: I have no clue how to play but want to get involved. What do I need to do?

A: There are 2 ways to learn pickleball here at Wildflower.

1. Take a Pickleball 101 Group Class. Sessions can be found here. | PICKLEBALL 101 CLASS

2. Schedule a private lesson with the pro. A great way to learn is to simply schedule a private lesson with our Head Pickleball Pro Jeff Contreras. Click Here for information on private lessons.

HOW THIS WORKS

When you come to an open play day, players can choose which court they would like to play on. Open play days are set up so that players can find games and enjoy pickleball.

Q: Is it ok to come by myself or do I have to bring a partner?

A: It is completely fine for you to show up without a partner. If you have a friend who knows how to play that you want to bring, then bring your friend.

Q: Do I just show up and play? Or do I need to sign up?

A: You can take your chances and just show up but the best thing to do as a member of Wildflower is to sign up through your CLUB LIFE app. This lets others know that you are coming and will guarantee games.

CHALLENGE COURT

A challenge court is a court that is reserved for players seeking higher level of play. Most commonly, players that compete on this court have a rating of 4.0 or higher.

Q: I am a 3.5 player, can I play on the challenge court?

A: Of course, we all need a challenge. The purpose of this court is to encourage players to better themselves although there is a matter of self awareness. If you see players on the court that are 4.0-4.5 you probably will not be able to keep up with those players.
